Arsène Sorgho

Originally from Burkina Faso, a country located in West Africa, Arsène SORGHO arrives in Canada on December 9, 2021. Soothed by the art and music as a child, Arsène learned to play the tam-tam at the age of 14. From then until the age of 18, he performed at Catholic ceremonies in his homeland. This symbolic age marks his entry into university life, where time becomes limited to practise his passion. A passion that has never left his heart. Arsène now makes his comeback and is ready to charm our ears with rhythms from overseas.

Jonathan Roy

Baie is made up of 3 members:

Chloé Breault (bass and vocals), Matt Boudreau (keyboards, guitars and vocals) and Marc-André Boudreau (electric guitar and vocals) accompanied by their musicians.

In the fresh, invigorating air of pop and disco music, the band sails on surf-rock waves to a sandy beach on the Baie des Chaleurs. This project is a way for these artists to get away from their respective individual projects and produce a different sound, while experimenting with innovative musical ideas that they don't use in their solo careers.

The album Grand Bleu is an ode to love stories and the Baie des Chaleurs, set against a nostalgic sunset backdrop. Listening to BAIE is like plunging into love stories and heart-warming tales through music that tastes like fruit punch and Froot Loops. The album, produced by Katerine Noël and Mico Roy (Les Hôtesses d'Hilaire and Hay Babies), blends the disco and rock of the 60s and 70s with the pop of today. The vocal harmonies touch the soul, as the guitar's reverberations echoes and the bass lines delivers a sound halfway between Beau-Dommage and the Beatles, while recalling the sunny vibes of the Beach Boys.

Jonathan Roy (Caraquet, NB) has been active in poetry for some fifteen years.

He has published in magazines and collectives, worked on artists' books, sometimes written songs, and often taken part in literary events outside the book (shows, video poems, exhibitions, performances).

With Perce-Neige, he published mélamine méduse in spring 2023, the follow-up to Savèches à fragmentation (2019) and Apprendre à tomber (2012), winners of the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie. In 2021, he took to the stage in Savèches, a theatrical adaptation of his book by Théâtre populaire d'Acadie. On the side, he directs the Festival acadien de poésie and co-directs the Poésie collection at Éditions Perce-Neige. He is currently the first recognized Poet of the Town of Caraquet.

Enceladus is an all-white world, a satellite moon of Saturn, which can give the impression that giant skaters have danced on its surface. It was discovered in 1789 by William Herschel.

Marie-Lilie Mailhot from Caraquet has been studying dance since childhood. As part of the 27th edition of FAVA, she will be performing a dance she choreographed on the theme of Enceladus, in which she plays the role of a young graffiti artist, colour can in hand, who suddenly finds herself catapulted onto Enceladus.

Marie Lilie Mailhot is from Caraquet, N.B. Since she was very young, she's pursued her passion for dance, and is daring and curious about everything, with a particular interest in the arts. Over the past few years, she has taken part in various training, film and theatre camps in Quebec at the age of 11-12, only to discover that it was a passion.

For this young artist, dance is a means of expressing her emotions and pushing back her own limits.  For the past 10 years, Marie-Lilie Mailhot has been a member of competitive troupes showcasing her talent in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec.

Marie-Lilie has a true passion and determination to express herself through dance.

Dancing is a part of me, along with my family at Studio de danse Aylite in Caraquet. A place where I continue to learn and share my love for this art with all my students. At the age of 16, I can tell you that dance is what's important for me.
