CARAQUET, NB.

Sylvio Boudreau is a multidisciplinary Acadian artist originally from Tracadie, New Brunswick, and now based in Caraquet. A painter, sculptor, writer, lyricist/musician, and graphic designer, he has been exploring the many realms of creativity for over 50 years. A graduate with a Bachelor of Visual Arts—Education from the University of Moncton (1984), he has presented his work in numerous exhibitions in New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario. Alongside his artistic practice, he has led several major cultural organizations, including the Fédération culturelle canadienne-française, the Fondation Conceptart multimédia, and the Société de promotion des artistes acadiens sur la scène internationale (SPAASI). At age 55, he embraced writing with passion and authored five poetry collections, four novels, tales and legends, as well as the play “Les Émeutiers,” created for the Théâtre populaire d’Acadie. Curious and always on the move, he continues his work today across painting, poetry, music, and the exploration of new technologies.
