VÉRONIC THÉRIAULT
CARAQUET, NB.

A native of Caraquet, Véronic Thériault developed a keen interest in the visual arts at an early age, which she further explored while studying visual arts in high school at École Curé-Antoine-Labelle in Laval, Quebec. Winner of the Marc-Aurèle-Fortin Award (2004) for excellence in her artistic work, she went on to study visual arts at Cégep du Vieux Montréal, where she solidified her technical foundation and broadened her perspective on contemporary creation. After completing her studies, Véronic continued her artistic journey by seeking out numerous opportunities for learning and collaboration. Her first exhibition at the Festival des arts visuels en Atlantique (FAVA) in 2009 marked an important milestone, allowing her to introduce her work to the public and forge her first connections within the artistic community. She has participated in the festival again at various points in her career, appreciating the event’s unifying spirit and openness, which helped establish her presence in the region’s art scene. Self-taught in painting, she has developed over the years a practice nourished by personal exploration and a deep sensitivity to the coastal landscapes that surround her. Her visual universe is defined by an intuitive approach in which color, light, and texture take center stage.
