DANIEL ROBICHAUD
EDMUNDSTON, NB.
Now living in Edmundston, but a native of the Acadian Peninsula, his passion for painting and drawing took hold as a child. Although his studies focused on the sciences, in 2021 he decided to rediscover his passion for the arts. He took painting lessons with respected artist Louise Giroux, who encouraged him to share his art. He draws inspiration from artists such as Claude Picard, Vicky Lentz, Clarence Bourgoin, Marc Grand-Bois and Maggie Rose.
Since then, he has had the opportunity to expose in several venues, including the Rendez-vous des artistes in Saint-Léonard, the Botanical Garden and Galerie Colline in Edmundston, the Centre Maillet in Saint-Basile, and the P'tite Église at the Maison de la culture in Shippagan. He will also be exhibiting at the Coloris d'automne symposium and at the Mgr-W.-J.-Conway Library in Edmundston. Artist Daniel Robichaud is a member of Plein air au jardin, an artistic group founded by such eminent artists as Vicky Lentz, Margaret Walsh and Louise Giroux.
His artistic approach reflects his fascination with nature, the animal world and human beings. Through her work, the artist seeks to capture the ephemeral beauty of landscapes and the complexity of feelings experienced.
His work is characterized by an exploration and use of vivid colors and varied textures, an approach that enables him to create dynamic, expressive compositions. Inspired by the harmony of nature, he seeks to convey to viewers the beauty he perceives in nature. Each canvas he creates is the result of an intimate connection with his environment.
The artist creates works in an essentially realistic style, using traditional materials such as oil paint and brush on canvas. He also occasionally explores the use of knives to breathe more life into his creations.
