GENEVIÈVE BOUFFARD

VILLAGE-BLANCHARD, NB.

A self-taught painter of Acadian and Quebecois roots, she has been living in the northeastern region of New Brunswick for the past 20 years. In creating her works, the artist draws inspiration from nature—particularly trees, mushrooms, and untouched landscapes. One of her favorite themes is the tree in all its forms, whether shipwrecked on the shore of the bay or bleached by salt water and sunlight. The resilience of trees in the face of the harmful impact of certain human activities deeply inspires her.

In her paintings, she seeks to create a sense of intimacy between the viewer and her subject, either by changing the angle during her photo sessions or by intensifying the colors during her painting process. Through her artistic practice, she strives to bring to life the emotions she experiences during her explorations of nature and the natural environments she portrays.

Her paintings have been exhibited in several venues, including Galerie Assomption Vie in Moncton, Galerie Georges-Goguen at Radio-Canada, and Galerie Bernard-Jean in Caraquet. She has also participated in the Saint-Léonard Symposium and, on several occasions, in the Festival of Visual Arts in Atlantic Canada as well as the Intervalle event.

FAVA
