TRACADIE, NB.
Multidisciplinary artist and designer Janie McLaughlin, originally from Rivière-du-Portage, New Brunswick, enjoys exploring a variety of media and techniques, including acrylic painting, digital creation, sewing and textile design. Creative intuition is at the root of this artist's work. Janie McLaughlin was born hearing-impaired, and her great passion is creating art. Her interest in art really took shape during her studies in fashion design - she obtained a DEC in fashion design at Campus Notre - Dame de - Foy, in 2013. And she holds a BACC in Fashion Design and Styling from the École Supérieure de monde de l'UQAM, QC in 2018.In 2017, she had the privilege of doing an internship at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, in Brussels, Belgium; which inspired her to create her final-year university project entitled Anthropos.Following this event, she was able to create designs for numerous celebrities, develop collaborations with photographers and participate in catwalk collections. In addition, several of her creations have been featured in magazines, including VOGUE in Italy in 2019.
