ROSEMONDE DUGUAY
CARAQUET, NB.
Originally from Brantville, she has been living in Caraquet for the past 30 years. A self-taught artist, she was drawn to drawing from a young age. She previously worked as a hairdresser and nail technician.
Her favorite painting subjects include flowers, nature, and landscapes. Through her work, the artist seeks to elevate the natural world that inspires her, using a style marked by fluidity and delicacy while enthusiastically exploring color.
She began painting in 1998, when she took painting classes with renowned Irish artist Roisin O’Farrell. Her preferred mediums are acrylic and oil, though she also enjoys combining different mediums within a single canvas.
In 2024, she took part in the Village des artistes in Shediac, New Brunswick.
As her interest in the arts deepened, she decided a few years ago to take oil painting courses with an Irish teacher. This step in her artistic development quickly grew into a true passion.
