

BÉATRICE MECKING
TABUSINTAC, NB.
Originally from Fair-Isle in New Brunswick's Acadian Peninsula, she now lives in Tabusintac, NB.
The artist trained in the field of art in 2013 and holds a certificate in Art Fundamentals from the New Brunswick Community College, Miramichi campus, New Brunswick. A multidisciplinary artist with a passion for visual art, textile creation and puppetry, she also studied drama at the Université de Moncton in 1979.
Her curiosity and thirst for discovery are reflected in the symbols, materials and textures she uses in her work.
The artwork of artist Béatrice Savoie Mecking is tinged with her emotions, her vision of the world and a touch of irony and humor, all of which add interest to her artistic work. She has also recently begun to explore sculpture, integrating wire, textiles and various materials, creating works that also play with light.
Her favorite themes include nature, the human being and biodiversity as a whole.
Artist Béatrice Savoie Mecking created a work for the Irréductibles racines collection, currently on display at the Musée des cultures fondatrices in Grande-Anse, New Brunswick.
